Trainer, Coach, Presenter and Content Provider for Authentic Strengths Advantage®. Dr. Darin Eckton is a facilitator of learning and change for individuals and groups, a researcher and a lifelong learner.

Highly regarded Professor. Darin is a professor in traditional face to face, hybrid and online learning settings. He regularly teaches leadership courses (including facilitation of learning as a form of leadership), student success, Hardiness® (stress management), conflict management and negotiation, and interpersonal communications. Of Darin, his students have said, “Darin has left a standing impact on my life.” and “He actually knows his students and respects them like family!” and “Darin always helps us see things from a different point of view, to think more critically, and how we can improve.”

Higher Education Expert. Darin brings a unique blend of over 17 years in higher education with experience in students services, student affairs and academic affairs. He has worked at public, private, and proprietary institutions, in traditional face to face, hybrid and online settings.

Presenter. Darin is a regular presenter at international, national and local conferences. Those who attend Darin’s presentations refer to him as “highly motivating, yet very down to earth,” “engaging,” and “incredibly interactive.”

Coach and Trainer. Darin regularly coaches and trains youth, parents and leaders of youth. He has coached and trained hundreds of train the trainers and others in multiple large international non-profit organizations (in English and Spanish), also coached athletic coaches, and enjoys coaching his own children in sports.

Consultant and Advisor. Darin has consulted multiple start-up companies and organizations (including charter and traditional schools), and regularly serves on advisory boards for educational and non-profit organizations.

President/Founder of non-profit organization. Darin started an educational non-profit organization to empower at-risk and underrepresented students for increased educational access and opportunity.

Author, Researcher and Curriculum Designer. Darin’s current research interests include motivation and the process of learning and change – and is currently writing a book that includes these interests. Darin created the first online Commissioner College (train the trainer) training for The Boy Scouts of America and the first Utah state-approved hybrid Licensed Substance Abuse Counseling program.

Lifelong Learner. Darin seeks to discover and uncover the learning in all of life’s experiences and relationships. Formerly, Darin earned a bachelor’s degree in Spanish Teaching, a master’s degree in sociology and a doctorate in educational leadership, all from Brigham Young University. Darin lived in Argentina for two years, speaks Spanish (exclusively to his children since birth), can “defend himself” in Portuguese, and will learn Italian, French and Mandarin in the coming years.

Single parent of 6 children. One of Darin’s top priorities is spending time with his 4 bundles of estrogen and 1 testosterone. Darin also has a deceased son, which (along with other life experiences) has provided him with rich perspective and appreciation for life.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
