Denise Richards
Consultant, Coach and Trainer

Having taught principles of personal leadership for 15 years, Denise Richards is excited to explore the convergence and alignment of personal leadership and strengths with the Authentic Strengths Advantage® team. She is an Associate Professor at Utah Valley University in the Department of Student Leadership and Success Studies. With years of experience mentoring college students and facilitating their personal growth and self-awareness, Denise is energized to combine “strengths” thinking and application to higher education and beyond.

Denise has been the lead instructor for The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People course for over 10 years. In addition to writing and implementing a strategic plan to position the course as premier leadership curriculum, she has been instrumental in the enrollment growth and overwhelming popularity of the course. Thousands of students have reported that this is the best course at UVU. Denise attributes the success of the course to the life-long learning aspect of the class; students of all ages can immediately practice and apply the concepts in their lives, bringing about critical changes.

With a Master’s Degree in Organizational Behavior and extensive doctoral work in leadership and adult learning, Denise is passionate about transformational learning and leadership. Transformational learning is about transcending one’s original state and fundamentally shifting one’s thinking and behaving. Denise has discovered that when learners engage in this process, they are much closer to becoming their authentic self. Facilitating people to find their voice is part of Denise’s personal mission in life.

Denise is a part-time consultant for Franklin Covey, specifically in the Higher Education division. She has been privileged to speak to many university faculty and administrators about personal leadership and the powerful outcomes associated with applying these principles.

Denise and her husband live in Alpine, Utah—along with their spoiled labradoodle. When she is not engaged playing with her adorable granddaughters, she has her nose in a book and is planning her next adventure.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
